LET THE BULLIES BATTLE

                                                                       July 28, 1969

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA

PARK CENTER is a great venue for professional wrestling as proven over the years, but the building may not be able to handle the action tonight when two of the very roughest and brutal tag teams (and constant rule breakers) in the business collide head-on in the evening's headline attraction.

In what has to be billed as a BATTLE OF THE BULLIES, the skin headed duo of BRUTE BERNARD and SKULL MURPHY clash with wrestling's 'BLONDE BOMBERS' RIP HAWK and SWEDE HANSON. Sympathies to whichever referee is assigned the job of officiating this two-out-of-three falls contest. One may describe the match as two locomotives colliding at breakneck speed.

ABE JACOBS

JOHNNY HEIDEMAN

ROCK HUNTER

LES WOLFE

More tag team action is in store for fans attending tonight when the popular duo of New Zealander ABE JACOBS and his youthful partner LES WOLFE face the rugged ROCK HUNTER and his masked partner EL LOBO. No one seems to know the identity of EL LOBO, and if HUNTER actually does, he isn't talking. This is also a best-of-three falls match.

Two singles matches will open the 8:15 card when JESSE JAMES takes on TOM BRADLEY and the youngster MATTI SUZUKI faces veteran tough guy JOHNNY HEIDEMAN.

GEORGE 'CRYBABY' CANNON

Six man tag team action, one of the wildest, rowdiest forms of professional wrestling, will head up tonight's big card at Charlotte's PARK CENTER. Bell time is 8:15.

Making up one trio of the big scuffle will be wrestling's 'BLONDE BOMBERS', RIP HAWK and SWEDE HANSON, who will be joined by GEORGE 'TWO TON' HARRIS, and opposing this rugged threesome will be fan favorites JOHNNY WEAVER, 'COWBOY' JESSE JAMES and JOHNNY 'RUBBERMAN' WALKER.

This main event is scheduled for the best two-out-of-three falls with a one hour time limit.

There's also standard four man tag action in the semifinal, this one matching two brother teams against one another, when JERRY and BOBBY CHRISTIE face rule breakers JOHN and CHRIS TOLOS, known as THE MICHIGAN WRECKING CREW.

The best-of-three falls will also settle this one.

In singles competition, PAT O'HARA meets the girth of GEORGE 'CRYBABY' CANNON, and popular REGGIE PARKS takes on JOE McCARTY, a newcomer from (honestly, he says) Tigertail, Tennessee.

TAG TEAM TITLES UP FOR GRABS

                                                                  September 14, 1959

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA

The SOUTHERN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP will be up for grabs tonight at PARK CENTER in the co-feature of a big four bout wrestling card promoted by JIM CROCKETT.

Colliding for the coveted title will be the current champions, THE GREAT BOLO and LARRY 'CRUSHER' HAMILTON, and a pair of more than worthy challengers, GEORGE BECKER and CYCLONE ANAYA.

The animosity between these men is staggering, especially that of BECKER and BOLO. These two men have battled all over the southern United States for several years, and the fire is now hotter than ever.

Two recorded falls by pin fall or submission is the requirement for the challengers to become the champions. The title match carries a one-hour time limit.

The co-feature tag match has FARMER McGREGOR and PANCHO LOPEZ taking on SKY LOW LOW and FUZZY CUPID in a midgets' tag scrap. McGREGOR is subbing for LITTLE BEAVER, who was injured in a match a few days ago and is out of action for the time being. This one's also for the best-of-three falls.

A pair of single matches opens the card with PAT FRALEY tackling CHICK GARABALDI and STEVE BOLUS faces MARTINO LORENZO.

Each of the single contests is set for one fall, twenty minutes.

Action begins at 8:15 p.m.

CHARLOTTE DEBUT OF NELSON ROYAL & PAUL JONES

                                                                        April 1, 1969

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA

Two tag team matches that will follow the pattern of science against "no holds barred" tactics rate equal billing on tonight's professional wrestling program at PARK CENTER kicking off at 8:15.

Local fans will be anxious to take their first look at the Texas team of NELSON ROYAL and PAUL JONES. The swift twosome was the rage in the Orient recently.

ROYAL and JONES will face the rugged duo of THE MISSOURI MAULER and HIRO MATSUDA. Add the judo skills of MATSUDA to the rough brawling of the MAULER, and they make quite a twosome.

The other tag battle will send the masked MR. WRESTLING and SAM STEAMBOAT up against "The Blonde Bombers," RIP HAWK and SWEDE HANSON. These two teams are locked in a bloody feud (see poster) these days, and nothing has been settled...yet. It's been a brutal brawl every time these men have locked horns.

Both tag matches are governed by the best-of-three falls, one hour time limits.

MIKE SHANE will open the card in his one-fall contest with villainous "Bulldog" LEE HENNING.

ANDERSONS DEBUT - SO DOES KLONDIKE BILL

                                                                       JULY 9, 1966

LEXINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA

Fan favorite JOHNNY WEAVER gets another crack at the SOUTHERN HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP when he meets title holder THE MISSOURI MAULER in tonight's LEXINGTON YMCA pro wrestling two-out-of-three falls main event.

It will be a rematch of a thriller here several weeks ago in which the MAULER was able to hang on to his title only by a thread.

WEAVER employed his famous "sleeper hold" for what would have been the deciding fall, but he was outside the ropes, and the brutal (and fortunate) champ was allowed to retain his belt when the referee was forced to disqualify WEAVER.

JOHNNY has promised a different outcome tonight.

In the evening's tag team battle, the popular duo of ABE JACOBS and RUDY KAYE will meet LARS and GENE ANDERSON, a rugged twosome from Minnesota, who are making their Lexington debut.

This match is also for two-of-three falls.

Another big man of wrestling, Kodiak, Alaska's KLONDIKE BILL, also makes his first appearance here when he faces the tough veteran EL GAUCHO in one of two supporting bouts.

The 8:15 opener will send two bullies, IKE EAKINS and TONY NERO, against one another.
